#01 - RING

"Canon," she whispered under her breath, taking in the beauty of the diamond engagement ring.

#02 - HERO

"My hero," she breathed, coughing at the smoke from the burning house, "Thank you, Fredrick."

#03 - MEMORY

Memories flood back to her mind seeing that hair ribbon, the ribbon he intentionally stole from her in teenaged days.

#04 - BOX

That same box still sits in the basement, school books and art pieces inside and Fredrick's journal to the middle, a box of sweet reminders of yesterday - and neither of them can see it without smiling.

#05 - RUN

"Run," he repeated, wiping the tears from her cheeks, "just run."

#06 - HURRICANE

She smiled as he joked, her heart pumping, as if a hurricane was running through her.

#07 - WINGS

It had been such a long time since she had felt this way - and after the question of Ernest's identity was cleared up and she was let go from the staff under her own wishes, she and Fredrick could be free, free as if flying on angel wings.

#08 - COLD

He took care of her when she conducted a cold, sniffling and sneezing constantly, and hoping he wouldn't burn down the house with his attempt at soup.

#09 - RED

She dumped him once only once for a blonde, blue-eyed boy - but then she saw him with another girl…she wasn't green...she was red.

#10 - DRINK

He asked her if she would care for a drink of lemonade and she accepted - the lemonade was fine and well, but watching him try to squeeze the lemons was better.

#11 - MIDNIGHT

The night: midnight, the time: midnight, the place: the church, the status: almost done with Laetitia's portrait.

#12 - TEMPTATION

He stared longingly at the store window - he wanted a cake like that, a wedding cake, but he couldn't have one…at least, not quite yet.

#13 - VIEW

The view from the garden was enticing - she, her pupil, and her books - the books being his favorite sign of a woman's intelligence.

#14 - MUSIC

He hoped she wouldn't care - he couldn't play music, at all.

#15 - SILK

She touched the inside of the silk ring box - gently stroking the top.

#16 - COVER

The leather bound three volume novel rested on his desk as he sketched the outline of her face, and just like her, the portrait was beautiful.

#17 - PROMISE

"Promise me you'll never leave," she said, brushing her hair back.

#18 - DREAM

Her dream was to get married and live a joyous life with him - and, obviously, he was the only one who could make it come true.

#19 - CANDLE

The candlelit room was the setting of that night - the night where he told her he loved her.

#20 - TALENT

Reading back over the novel she had written, he realized she truly had a talent.

#21 - SILENCE

The awkward silence between them was broken when they both erupted into laughter.

#22 - JOURNEY

The journey to marriage was what took a while - the love was there from the start.

#23 - FIRE

Fire had destroyed the home they had together and very nearly their own lives - but they and the love they had survived.

#24 - STRENGTH

They could always rely on each other's strength - helping through the best and worst of times.

#25 - MASK

She couldn't hide her jealousy of the other girl behind a mask - she loved him.

#26 - ICE

Ice couldn't freeze the jealousy he felt when seeing her with the blonde boy - he loved her.

#27 - FALL

She tripped on her long skirt, falling into his arms - "Thanks for catching me," she said, her heart racing.

#28 - FORGOTTEN

They stared at each other with their new dates - and deep down inside, hoped they would never forget each other.

#29 - DANCE

"I can't dance," she said firmly.

#30 - BODY

"Stop, my roots are gentle," she said, pulling his fingers away from the body of her hair.

#31 - SACRED

The box was filled with memories of love - sacred memories of love.

#32 - FAREWELLS

"I'll never forget you," he insisted in a whisper.

#33 - WORLD

"It'll never matter where you are," he said, "somewhere across the world, or just down the street, I'll always love you."

#34 - FORMAL

"It’s a wedding, Gwendolen, their wedding, you need to wear something more formal," Ernest insisted.

#35 - FEVER

"102? You're running a fever," she said, grabbing the thermometer from his mouth, "Well, no need to fret, I'll take care of you."

#36 - LAUGH

"You make me laugh," she said with a smile, while 14 year old Fredrick attempted to walk across the edge of the bridge, "Please, just don't kill yourself."

#37 - LIES

"You lied to me," she said with a smile, "You never really loved her?"

#38 - FOREVER

"I'll love you forever, and ever, and ever..."

"I know."

#39 - OVERWHELMED

She felt overwhelmed by all that had happened, but it changed when he embraced her at the end of it all.

#40 - WHISPER

"Can you ever forgive - " he was cut off by her words in a whisper -

"Yes."

#41 - WAIT

"I'll wait for you," he promised, watching her board the train.

#42 - TALK

"Talk," he prompted, "you don't have to completely lose touch with the world while I'm painting you."

#43 - SEARCH

"I don't care," he insisted, "I've searched and searched - and one day, I'll find her again."

#44 - HOPE

"We're too young to get married," she replied, absently twirling her hair in her fingers with a smile, "But there is still hope."

#45 - ECLIPSE

The moon eclipsed, and they held hands.

#46 - GRAVITY

"Oh, dear," she said as he tried to make his way out of the water. "Are you al - "

"Gravity is such a pain."

#47 - HIGHWAY

Take the road, take the high road, she reminded herself, but it was so hard seeing him with someone else.

#48 - UNKNOWN

Unbeknownst to her, he had planned dinner that night - that's why she was sorry it had snowed.

#49 - LOCK

"Its locked..." he said in a sad voice, "there’ll be no dining tonight…"

“Maybe not,” Laetitia reasoned.

#50 - BREATHE

"Breathe," he prompted, "and don't worry, I'll never stop loving you."
